Worker Gets HUGE Reward For Honesty

This man learned that it pays to be honest.

In 1836, the directors of the Bank of England began receiving anonymous letters from someone who claimed to have access to their gold vault. They assumed it was a joke, as the bank of England was constructed with 8 foot thick concrete walls, and used specially designed keys to the doors. How could anyone think they could get in? So they ignored it, until a second letter came requesting a meeting inside the vault at a time chosen by these mysterious letters..

They finally agree, and choose a pre-determined time. As they’re standing in the vault waiting, a noise comes from beneath the floorboards, a small piece of the floor moves and out pops a sewer worker!

Now, finally alarmed, the bank does a quick inventory, and realized that the man had not taken anything from the vault, even though he had plenty of opportunities to do so. As a reward for his honesty, the bank gave him $100,000.

Turns out, this sewer worker had been working on repairs close by, when he found an old drain that led directly underneath the gold vault and into the bank.
